I am a freelance editor working with publishers, agents and authors to craft exceptional stories. Specialising in adult fiction, I bring over seven years of experience from two of the UK’s leading publishing houses - Penguin Random House and Hachette. From big picture structural edits to detailed line edits, I’m here to support all your editorial needs.

What I Offer

Whether you're a writer working independently or a publishing professional looking for experienced editorial support, I bring an expert eye, strategic insight, and a deep love of storytelling to every project.

I love working closely with authors to bring their stories to life. My favourite part of the process is the first edit: reading a manuscript with fresh eyes and feeling the spark of something special taking shape.

  • I can assist you with structural edits and line edits, and I’m always happy to schedule a call to discuss any notes in further detail. I’ve worked with authors at every stage of their career and I tailor each edit to suit the individual, delivering every edit with care and sensitivity. I offer quick turnaround times and will help ensure projects stay on their critical path, without ever compromising on quality.

  • Editing is a partnership, and I’m a strong believer that the best editor–author relationships are built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared love for the story being told.  Whether it’s refining plot points, deepening character arcs, or sharpening pacing, I’m here to help make your story the strongest version of itself. I always say: This is your book. My role is to help you make it shine.

  • “I cannot recommend Tallulah more highly. Her edits are consistently thoughtful, ambitious and sensitive. Her ability to connect with authors and help them realise the potential of their stories is a pleasure to behold.”

Oliver Grant - Manager of Original Books, Audible

  • Tallulah is a great editor: sensitive, analytical and thorough in her approach, she holds readers in mind while ensuring an author’s ambitions are fully realised.

Helen Conford - Publisher, Cornerstone Press, Hutchinson Heinemann, #Merky Books

  • “You’re only as good as the people around you, and the passion Tallulah had for the story I was trying to tell was one of the main reasons why I wanted to work with her on The Situationship. It was incredibly clear from the start that she genuinely loved and cared for the characters as much as I did, which for a writer is simply a dream come true. She constantly championed my work and helped me gain the confidence to trust in my voice and abilities, and believed in me more than I did myself at times! I’m so glad I got to start my publishing journey with someone like Tallulah in my corner.”

Taylor-Dior Rumble - Author of THE SITUATIONSHIP

  • "Tallulah Lyons is an exceptional editor whose approach is both supportive and collaborative - I worked with her on my novel The House of Water and truly believe that it would not have been the same novel if I'd worked on it with someone else - her shrewd eye for detail, overview of character arcs and understanding of genre is unparalleled - and her editing style is both direct and creative whilst also keeping true to the author's vision - she is the kind of editor who is committed to making your manuscript the best it can be."

Fflur Dafydd - Author of THE LIBRARY SUICIDES and THE HOUSE OF WATER

  • “Tallulah edits with precision and editorial integrity. Her ability to elevate my manuscript without compromising voice or vision was not only invaluable, but rare. She brings an intuitive understanding of what a work needs to truly resonate.”

Abigail Bergstrom - Author of WHAT A SHAME and SELFISH GIRLS

  • "Tallulah is a fantastic editor. She always understands exactly what I need from a project, with a level of detail that reflects her immense passion for author care and reader experience. I have complete confidence in her work and continue to recommend her without hesitation to colleagues."

Amy Mae Baxter - Editorial Director, Avon

  • "I couldn’t have asked for a better editor to work on my debut novel. Tallulah fully understood my voice and exactly what story I was trying to tell from day one, and as a debut, knowing immediately that my book was in good hands was such a relief. She was communicative, her notes were clear and helpful, and she was always willing to discuss and work collaboratively. Her passion for the novel combined with her editorial eye – whether for small tweaks or bigger changes – truly brought my manuscript to the next level. Any author would be lucky to work with her!"

Georgia Stone - Author of THE FRIENDSHIP FLING
